I don't know so much about the guns, only because your generation is extremely unstable....

however, I can't see talkris completly vetoing the guns thing, if you showed that although you were unstable, you were useful and could handle yourself.

your power is very strange and precarious, although it is different.

One ear hears loud noises...does that mean that ear can only hear sounds over a certain decible?

and the other ear only hear sounds under a certain decible of vibration? I don't quite understand it.

you could just make it more broad and say that you have extremely enhanced hearing,...that would be more then fine. You could hear fine tuned noises at a distance, and very quiet noises, and have a much larger spectrum of understanding of sounds and noises.

but I don't quite get your thing with your ears...because it makes no sense that one ear could have enhanced hearing for only loud, and another hearing for only soft, but both enhancing, its....just plain confusing XD

[Talkris]: Now you just need to do your sample post, before we get into the fine tweaking of the abilities.

[moonscale]: Actually the big ear hears things that are far away, the little ear hears finer noises. Since its so confusing she cant use it very much and might be deaf to practical purpose. In that case she might not be able to hear people speak....I think I'll have to work on that.

[Fizban]: it's more then an acceptible power...however, I don't quite know about talkris and what she would accept, but I would need a viable explanation. Generally when an ear can hear farther away, its ability to pick up and interpret vibrations is much greater...and averagely with people with good hearing can hear everything.

Just expand and clarify the power some more, thats all I am asking, as well as letting you know ,that you can make it a bit more powerful if you want.

My char is mentally distrubed and he is the same age as you, but he has the power of invisibility.

She can collect vibrations from random places? Like a radio antena maybe.

lol XD...She can focus on an area far away or a specific area and hear the things from there...*envisions those microphone thingies that when you point them at something you can hear things from right ther, and there only, reallly well...

there is no difference I don't beleive, between vibrations from a very far far away position...and sounds made very lightly thus they emit few vibrations...

because they are both just weakened or soft vibrations reaching your ears.

[moonscale]: sort of. Tachnicaly, she shouldn't be able to pick up vibrations from so far away. But then one shouldn't be able to move matter from place to place instantaneaously. So why don't we just gloss over the scientific aspects a bit? Its Science fiction after all.

[Fizban]: no...she should be able to pick up vibrations from so far away, if she has the proper ears to pick them up.

if you got the right equipment, you can do whatever...I am just trying to get you the correct biological equipment to justify your abilities.

The DNA in someones body could code for the genetic mutations that adapt someones brain to being capable of mentally turning the body into energy and then transporting it somewhere else,...or merely speeding hte bdoy up immensly, or opening a demensional rifts, assuming our universe has parallels for other demensions to exist.

cant and shouldnt are 2 very different things.

[Talkris]: Why not just say high frequency and low frequency sounds. Then she will be deaf to certain levels of vibrations. For example, someone's normal speech may be difficult to understand.

[Fizban]: Thats what I was trying to reason with before...

but high isnt necessarily far away, and low isnt necessarily close up, yet very quite like....-ness...>_><_<

[moonscale]: Ok then, but how does that work with the far away stuff? and some people do have that naturally, though I suppose not to such an extreme.
Its still confusing. Should I maybe just change it to something else? 
I just thought of something. Think about it as if it were sight. On one eye would be like a microscope, everything would look huge. the other would see things far away, bit like a mini sattelite that keeps switching around.

[Talkris]: But, there is a differnce between sound and sight, is what he is trying to say. Sound is not measured in distance, it is measured in volume, pitch, frequency. etc.

[Talkris]: He isn't arguing the power, just your way of explaining it. I like the power, it just needs to be explained more clearly using the words I provided.

[Fizban]: precisely...I have no objection with the power, I think it is very useful, modest, and a good choice. Most poeple dislike settling with such powers feeling them to be quiant,...but I enjoy this character.

However, the way your presenting the power...if you straight out said, she has enhanced hearing abilities, the straight forward nature of that request would give me no qualms as to the acceptance of your power...

the only reason I have a problem is how your going about the description of the power...your making it more difficult both in your own characters useage, as well as everyone's understanding of how it works.

your making it more complex, and less functional, which to me seems irrational.

if you were to simply state that she had fucking awesome hearing, that would work to say that you could hear a pin drop if you wanted too, or a car crash 15 miles away if you activated your powers...

really really really good sense of hearing is what I expected....

[Talkris]: I like the limitations she has set. How certain sounds can not be heard. If you want, just say that she can only hear certain decibles. That the the scientific measurment of sound.

but a sound from really far away has a low decible...

and a sound like a pin dropping has a really really low decible as well

a plane crashing 300 feet away has a really high decible...
a meteor had a really high decible...

and evil screaming child in a restauruant or a mall foodcourt has a really high decible.

so what...one ear hears from decibles from 25-75 (imagining the chart was comprised of 1-100)

and the other hears from 1-24 and from 76-100 really well??

Because I'm not so sure about the accuracy of you examples. I don't know the decible system that well but I'm pretty sure that the range you mentioned is way too small. Isn't 80 decibles the loudest you can listen to music before it makes you deaf? But I think I'd rather say the whole low and high frequency thing.

[moonscale]: Phew. Alright. :)  .....why a bar? are there bars in the institute? or should i do it as if she had managed to escape? or does it matter? 

[Talkris]: No particular reason for a bar. Its just a test. Just have your character walk into a bar.

[moonscale]: Sadui walked into a bar, swinging her hips side to side in an unnatural manner.  Even when she walked directly under the loudspeakers, she didn't seem to notice the music blaring from them. She sat down and looked around, carefully shading her eyes from view under the curtain of green-orange hair that flopped down from the thick headband around her ears.

1 just remember that you will not have any of those weapons while in the institute, no one is allowed weapons.

[Talkris]: Is what you wrote your sample post? I don't know if I told you this already or not, but your actual posts must be longer and more descriptive then that. Look in the history page and you'll see a current IM-RP between Filliadorma and I. That is the length I'd like the see the posts in the RP. It makes for a better read and pushes your abilities a bit further. You did well enoug describing what your character was doing, but you didn't go into enough detail about where she was. What was the bar like? Does it have a smell? Lit well? Was it crowded? You need to keep these things in mind when writing, alright?

I don't know. I imagined him as a rather harasd/ nervous youang man who is always somwhat stessed and chaotic. But I guess its up to you.

She can have weapons, but they dont allow them outside of assignment...the doctors dont have weapons or anything, so it's not like they can stop if you if you decide to go on a killing spree with your guns. So you arent allowed them in the complex,...(only one char, talkris's is, and thast because his character cannot live without his guns, he will through tantrums till he is fatigued, and he will do it over and over again till they are returned. I his case his ammo is just taken away, making his gun useless.)

however, how could your character have a secret weapon? A poisined spike would be supplied to her by the institute, it's not like you could make it, you wouldnt know how, having never been taught, nor would you be given the supplied.

[Fizban]: It's okay outside of the institute, but it would make no sense to have it inside of the intittue.

[Talkris]: Actually, I don't even think she would be allowed poison outside of the institute because it just doesn't seem very practical to me. Everyone they will be facing has guns and bombs. Poison hardly can take effect by then. Understand?

[moonscale]: Yes, but I did explain how she got it... I think its not what you mean but I can take it out.

[Fizban]: bombs...I want bombs now...lol, bombs are fun.

[moonscale]: Oops, i took it out again. I said that she stole a compass rom her math lesson and removed the spike and kept it (the spike).

[Talkris]: No, that seems improbable. The lessons are kept one on one with the watchers. Besides, that doesn't explain how the poison came about.

Here, have you ever been to or known someone in a mental institute? Because that is the best example of how the seeds are treated.

so how did she get the necessary tools to hollow out the pin, and then fix it so it didnt leadk out poisin unless enough force was exerted such as you stabbing it into someone, and where were you supplied the poisin.

There are all those practical problems to it.

[moonscale]: Its nt hollow, just a sort of film on the surface, its stuck in her headband so it wont affect her.
It is very crude.

[Fizban]: pointless, you have no poisins to coat it with so thats impossible.

but no one cares as long as you write appropriately detailed and long posts in the rp.

Its okay to have a few short~er~ posts once in a while, but if you consecutively, and/or consistantly have short posts, then there will be a problem.

[moonscale]: Sadui stood in front of the bar door and licked her lips nervously before walking in with a slow staggering gait. She swung her hips side to side in an unnnatural manner as if she were dancing to some music. Yet even when she passed directly under the loudspeakers blasting a thumping beat she did not react or walk in synchrony with the rhythm. She sat down on a bar stool and spun to face the bar. She sat, looking fornlornly at the other people sitting elsewhere throughout the room. her brightly roughed cheeks stood up harshly against her pale skin. Combined with her luminous white eyes her face seemed corpslike and feverish. "I'll have a martini." she said almost silently. Then attempted to ask again for the only drink she knew. "I'll have a martini!" she said in a voice loud enough to draw attention from her neighbors. She blushed as she saw the heads turn and dug her nails into the palm of her hand. Why couldn't I be like them? Why? She bowed her head, closing her eyes to shut out the pain and lock away their alieness. Her hair slipped forward from under her headband. She sighed. It was just another reminder of what made her different.

She shivered and folded her arms across her chest as if trying to protect herself from the voices. Her brightly roughed cheeks stood up harshly against her pale skin. Combined with her luminous white eyes her face seemed corpslike and feverish. She felt slightly nauseous. There were so many different sounds! [moonscale]: I dont know. I think it would be funny if it were a guy who wasnt very old and shed alwys act like shes in love with him caus of her humanity fixation. But other then that I guess its whatever you or whoever is going to play him wants.
